Your first case in CaseVant
Describe the decision, review the structure, confirm the save and inspect the report. Start with the current guides below.
Current step-by-step guides
01 · Start with a brief, template or file
In Case Studio, describe the decision, your role, jurisdiction, deadline, known facts and desired outcome. Templates start a fresh draft with intake questions; Demo contains fictional examples. Before replacing current work, preserve it. For an ordinary brief, use Import case or prompt and review the proposed structure before applying it.
02 · Restore an exact case file
For a complete canonical Markdown export, choose Verify canonical case, inspect the preview, then Apply exact case. Keep the entire file, including its embedded data. A normal prompt is not an exact restoration. Import opens a draft; it does not confirm a workspace save.
03 · Review the structure and evidence
Give the case a clear title. Use Overview → Sources & evidence → Decision → Review → Reports. Open Brief & structure to edit the brief or review proposed changes. Check proposed facts, alternatives and outcomes before accepting them. Separate verified evidence, estimates and missing information. The Next step card helps you continue; it is not a review or approval.
04 · Save, wait for confirmation, then reopen
Use Save to workspace. Sign in and complete your profile if prompted. Wait for Saved to workspace, then open My cases → Personal with the same account and check the saved content in a separate tab. Further edits need another confirmed save. Keep the original tab until you have verified the saved copy.
05 · Find personal and team work
Personal contains your account-owned Studio cases. Team contains governed organization records: select the correct organization and permissions. Importing or saving a personal draft does not create a Team record. A browser draft or downloaded case file is stored separately from both collections.
06 · Inspect the actual report
Choose Create analytical report, then Preview PDF or Download PDF. Open the downloaded file and check the title, facts, evidence, alternatives and unresolved conditions. A download-started message does not confirm receipt. Saving, file verification and PDF export do not independently approve a decision.
Practise with a fictional case
Use the supplier-change brief: identify the decision, deadline, alternatives and evidence. Give the draft a title, confirm a workspace save, reopen it from Personal and inspect a PDF.
Download the practice brief (.md)This ordinary text brief contains no embedded canonical graph. If you already have a complete canonical export, use the exact-file guide instead. Use fictional practice data.
Questions & troubleshooting
Where are my cases after moving to casevant.pro?
Sign in again with the same account and open My cases → Personal. For Team, select the same organization. Sessions and device-only drafts belong to the earlier domain. Keep that tab in the same browser/profile, save there and wait for confirmation, or use a permitted export. Follow the recovery instructions below before closing the original.
Do I need AI to create or edit a case?
You can enter and review the case manually. AI-assisted preparation requires the account, completed profile and service access requested by the interface. If it is unavailable, keep your brief and continue with manual editing. Review any proposed structure before applying it.
Are Demo and Templates duplicates?
Demo contains fictional walkthroughs and decision simulations. Templates create a fresh Studio draft with a case type and intake questions; they do not copy a demo's facts, documents or conclusions.
Why does canonical verification fail?
Use the complete exported Markdown file, not copied visible text. If embedded data or the fingerprint is missing or mismatched, obtain an intact export. Do not treat ordinary text as an exact restoration.
What if sign-in or saving is unavailable?
Keep the current tab and a permitted export. Use Account on the published site. If the page fails, report its address, time and displayed error without sending credentials or private evidence. Opening another domain does not transfer an unsaved draft.
What if saving times out?
Keep the original tab. Open Personal cases separately and inspect the most recent saved content before retrying: an uncertain response does not prove the write failed. Preserve a permitted export; report the case reference, operation and displayed error if the result remains uncertain.
What if the PDF does not appear?
Check the browser's downloads and popup settings, then try Preview PDF. Open the actual file to confirm it arrived. Keep the case open and report the displayed error if it persists.

A case from file to decision
Welcome to CaseVant. Make your case. Evidence, options and outcomes, connected. In ten minutes, follow a case from import to review and reporting, then start your own. This course uses the current CaseVant workspace, with a real opening screen and labeled workflow illustrations. Account instructions explain actions rather than claim recorded success. Practise with fictional or de-identified material.
Demo, Templates and your own work
Choose Demo to learn from fictional examples. Open Canopy overview for a guided starting point, or browse the available examples and simulations. Choose Templates for a fresh draft with a case type and intake questions. Supply your own facts and evidence. Personal cases and Team records have different destinations; opening an example or template does not create a saved record.
Choose the complete Markdown file
Our example is Five Flats, Three Borders, sometimes called Five Flats, Three Countries. Use the complete final Markdown file, including its embedded case data. From the entry screen, choose Import case or prompt. Inside the editor, the equivalent route is More actions, then Import case prompt, dot m d. Importing text is not yet applying its graph.
Verify the exact case
Choose Verify canonical case. This path checks the embedded structure and fingerprint locally, without asking AI to reinterpret the file. Review the verified title, version, twenty-three nodes and thirty-six relations. A matching fingerprint confirms which case data you have. It does not independently verify the evidence, legal conclusions, tax rates or any claimed review date.
Navigate the current CaseVant workspace
Choose Apply exact case when the verified preview matches your file. For a professional case, use Overview, Sources and evidence, Decision, Review, and Reports. Brief and structure contains Edit the brief and Review proposed changes. Training simulations retain their guided steps and play controls. These sections organize work; they do not confirm a save or independent approval.
Read the mandate before editing
Read the title, jurisdiction, professional role and Case context. This fictional matter concerns a PRC-resident client, five English flats and a proposed Liechtenstein structure. The client's preferred structure is a request to investigate, not the answer. Keep alternative routes, unresolved questions and stop conditions visible. Preserve the original file before changing its reviewed working copy.
Trace evidence to the decision
Inspect the evidence and the decision it supports. For example, the KYC questionnaire connects to the ownership and funds investigation. A named evidence node is not proof that its underlying document has been accepted. Record what the source establishes, what remains uncertain, and which decision depends on it. Use case actions to return directly to missing information.
Verify the current case inputs
Use the economics in the case you actually opened. Check purchase price, debt, interest, repayment basis and term. Then verify annual rent, operating expenses and structure costs against their sources. An older example may use different figures. When assumptions change, recalculate and inspect the result before relying on it. Keep the calculation basis and unresolved inputs visible.
Interpret outcomes without inventing certainty
The requested ten-percent return needs a named measure. Gross yield, cash-on-cash return and equity I R R answer different questions. Compare the displayed calculations with their assumptions and source evidence. This file contains provisional acquisition costs and unverified tax-rate sources. We are demonstrating the review workflow, not confirming a tax advantage or promising that the target is achieved.
Follow a route and its alternatives
Open Decision to inspect the decision map. Select a node, read its detail and follow its connections to the next question or outcome. In Five Flats, defining the return metric and checking lawful funding are meaningful gates. Follow a stop or renegotiation route as well as a proceeding route. Explain which evidence could change the decision.
Resolve checks before sharing
Open Review and read the checks for your case. Return to missing fields, evidence or connections and correct the draft. Training simulations also offer Test and Play controls when their routes are ready. A professional decision package does not need an artificial game route. Structural completeness is one check; evidence quality and professional judgment still require review.
Preview an analytical draft
Open Reports or choose Create analytical report. The report dialog offers Preview PDF and Download PDF, with further settings and approval options. Begin with an internal draft. Inspect its identity, assumptions, evidence and decision map. Open the downloaded file to confirm delivery. A draft export does not create independent approval or a governed Team report.
Keep a portable case and check the PDF
After choosing Download PDF, check your browser's downloads and open the file yourself. The message PDF download started confirms initiation, not delivery. To preserve an editable canonical handoff, use More actions, then Export Final case prompt, dot m d. Read its status controls carefully. A filename containing Final does not supply missing evidence or create independent reviewer approval.
Save and reopen: account instructions · Instructions
To save a personal case, choose Save to workspace. Sign in and complete your profile if prompted. Wait for Saved to workspace, then open My cases, Personal, with the same account. Check the restored content in a separate tab before closing the original. Team records are separate. These are account instructions; this course does not claim a recorded successful save.
Start a clean working draft
Now create your own fictional case. Preserve the current work first, return to Case Studio and choose Create a case. Read any replacement or unsaved-work prompt before proceeding. The new draft starts a separate authoring task. Alternatively, choose a suitable starter in Templates; review its case type and intake questions instead of treating the starter as a finished example.
Write a useful brief
Open Brief and structure, then Edit the brief. Describe the people involved, decision, jurisdiction, known facts, evidence and deadline. For practice, ask whether a fictional business should approve a supplier change before launch. Mark prices and delivery claims as unverified until supported. State the alternatives and the conditions that would make you pause instead of proceeding.
Optional AI: review before applying · Instructions
This optional AI path is an instruction, not a recorded authenticated request. Where enabled, Understand with AI requires sign-in and a confirmed profile. It proposes changes for review before you apply them. Check the current data-handling notice before sending material. If unavailable, continue with manual editing or the explicitly labeled local fallback; do not mistake fallback output for AI analysis.
Complete, connect and review
Complete Sources and evidence, then inspect Decision. Give nodes concrete titles and connect choices to reasoned outcomes. Use Review to identify structural gaps, then Reports to inspect the output. Save to workspace separately and verify the saved copy under Personal. Do not replace missing evidence with confident wording. A useful decision package explains both the recommendation and its unresolved conditions.
Create an organization case · Instructions
For shared work, open My cases, Team, and select the intended organization. Use New case and complete the requested matter details. Verify the returned record and organization before adding documents or reviews. A personal Studio save does not create this Team record. These are account instructions, not a recorded creation. Your permissions determine the actions available.
Repeat the workflow with your own example
Practise importing and verifying a complete case file, tracing one evidence-dependent decision, inspecting a report and starting a fictional case. Confirm any save under My cases, Personal. If moving from the earlier domain, use the same account and preserve device-only drafts before closing that tab. Return to Help and training for current guides. Make your case with evidence you can explain.
